DNA-encoded Libraries

DNA-encoded libraries

Collections of small molecules tagged with DNA barcodes that record each compound's identity during pooled binding selections.

Overview

EXPLORE BY LEVEL

Each small molecule in a DNA-encoded library carries a short DNA tag like an ID card. After molecules are tested against a protein, researchers read the tags to learn which compounds were retained.

Research Claims

DEL selection can efficiently identify binders from very large collections, but results depend on target presentation, selection conditions, DNA-compatible chemistry, amplification bias, and post-selection validation. Binding enrichment does not prove functional activity.
