Gs–cAMP–PKA Signaling
G alpha(s)-coupled receptor signaling through cyclic AMP and protein kinase A
A common GPCR branch in which Gαs stimulates cyclic AMP production and cAMP regulates protein kinase A and other effectors.
Overview
EXPLORE BY LEVELA signal can bind a GPCR and switch on Gs inside the cell. Gs helps make cyclic AMP, which activates PKA. Other GPCRs can use different helper proteins and routes.

Research Claims
This pathway is a selected Gαs branch, not a universal GPCR sequence. Local cyclase/PDE isoforms, AKAP scaffolds, G-protein subunits, receptor phosphorylation, ligand bias, and trafficking organize temporal and spatial responses. GAP activity is Gα-family-specific, and β-arrestins may also scaffold signals while promoting receptor internalization.
